L.A. Riots start 20 years ago today - Burn, Baby, Burn.

One of the lovely artists books I got to see at the AGO this past Spring.  Though the original post here doesn’t explain, the artist basically invited people to write anything they wanted on a sheet of paper and then be photographed.  Nothing is scripted, and this, along with the rest of the book, make for some very interesting, heartbreaking, and self-aware [albeit assisted] self-portraiture.  Very interesting read here linked which goes into further detail.

Desperate

Yay for accidentally picking up an anthology written by Irish authors about mental disease and suicide.  This is going to be a fun read!  In all reality, though, it’s all so beautiful that I can’t put it down.
